BQ24780
The BQ24780 chip is a high-efficiency, smart battery charge controller IC designed for use in laptops and other portable devices. In laptops, the BQ24780 is commonly used to control charging of 1- to 4-cell lithium-ion or lithium-polymer battery packs, automatically switching between adapter and battery power as needed.
