Change of battery for Nintendo Switch V1/V2/Lite/OLED
You may need to exchange (replace) the battery in your Nintendo Switch if you notice any of the following signs:
- Shortened Playtime: The Switch dies much faster than before, even after a full charge. For example, if your battery now lasts only about an hour or less when it used to last several hours, this is a strong indicator of battery degradation.
- Overheating Issues: The console gets excessively hot during use or charging, which can be a sign of a failing battery.
- Slow or Inconsistent Charging: The battery takes longer to charge, or the charge level fluctuates unpredictably.
- Swollen or Bloated Battery: If you notice the back of your Switch bulging, or the casing feels swollen or starts to separate, this is a serious sign of battery swelling and requires immediate replacement.
- Failure to Charge: The Switch does not charge at all when connected to a power source, or it only works when plugged in and will not turn on otherwise.
- Battery Indicator Issues: If the battery indicator is inaccurate and troubleshooting (such as recalibrating or performing a full charge/discharge cycle) does not resolve the issue, the battery may be faulty. However, before replacing, try Nintendo’s recommended fixes for incorrect battery readings.
