Change of internal fan for Nintendo Switch V1/V2/Lite/OLED
You may need to exchange (replace) the internal fan on your Nintendo Switch if you notice any of the following signs:
- Overheating and Automatic Shutdown: The console displays a message saying it is getting too hot and needs to cool down, then enters sleep mode or shuts down, especially during graphically intensive games.
- Fan Not Spinning: The internal fan does not spin at all, even when the console is running demanding games or charging. You can sometimes hear the fan when it is working, so a lack of sound may indicate failure.
- Unusual Fan Noises: The fan makes loud, grinding, gurgling, or whining noises, which can indicate worn bearings or mechanical failure.
- Constant Fan Operation: The fan runs constantly at high speed and never shuts off, even when the console is idle or running simple tasks.
- Physical Resistance or Noise When Spun by Hand: If you carefully open the console (not recommended for most users), you may find the fan does not spin freely or feels rough when turned by hand.
- Dust or Debris: If cleaning the vents and fan area with compressed air does not resolve noise or overheating issues, the fan itself may be failing.
