The CBTL06142 is used in MacBook logic boards as a high-speed multiplexer for DisplayPort and PCI Express signals. Its primary function is to allow flexible routing and switching between different display sources and connectors—such as between integrated and discrete graphics, or between internal and external display outputs—on the logic board.
